Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set to launch later this month as a Nintendo Switch exclusive game and it's really the first big new release for 2022. Hype is relatively high for Pokemon Legends: Arceus because of how it's taking main series Pokemon games into a new direction, though there is also some skepticism about the changes it's making to the established Pokemon formula. The latest leaks surrounding Pokemon Legends: Arceus may make fans even more unsure about whether or not the game will live up to their lofty expectations, unfortunately.

Riddler_Khu on Twitter, a Pokemon leaker whose tweets are now protected, has claimed that Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be missing some fan favorite features that have been featured prominently in the main series Pokemon games. According to Riddler_Khu's information, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will not let Pokemon hold items and will be taking away Pokemon abilities. Not only that, but the leak claims that Pokemon Legends: Arceus will not allow for Pokemon breeding, which is another popular feature that many fans will be disappointed to see go.

While the Riddler_Khu leak seems mostly focused on features that are being removed from Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the leaked information also touches on a new feature that will be implemented in the game. Assuming the leaked information is correct, it seems Pokemon Legends: Arceus will have a new system where players are able to feed their Pokemon candy to raise certain stats, with the difference being that stats can only be raised through candies.

Whether or not there's truth to any of these Pokemon Legends: Arceus leaks remains to be seen, but fans won't have to wait too much longer to find out for themselves. The Pokemon Legends: Arceus release date is right around the corner, so fans will soon be able to play through the adventure and see if these features truly are missing as well as make a determination if their absence is all that big of a deal.

After all, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is much different than other main series Pokemon games. It's not trying to copy the gameplay that Pokemon fans have come to expect from the usual generational releases, and so it stands to reason that there will be big differences between it and the other games. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is not a true open world game, but it still features more open environments and allows for more player freedom than ever before, so it will be interesting to see how it all works out come the game's launch later this month.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a risk for sure, but fans will find out if it pays off sooner rather than later.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches January 28, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
