A Pokemon fan created a new version of New Bark Town from the Johto region in the style of Pokemon FireRedand LeafGreen. These two games are remakes of the 1996’s Pokemon Red and Blue, fixing various bugs and improving the graphics to offer Pokemon fans a better experience than the original Game Boy games.

New Bark Town is where players debut their journey in Pokemon Gold and Silver, as well as their remakes HeartGoldandSoulSilver. This small town is home to the main character’s family and features the laboratory of Professor Elm, the Pokemon Professor from the Johto region. New Bark Town is where players receive their starter Pokemon from Professor Elm, choosing between grass-type Chikorita, fire-type Cyndaquil, or water-type Totodile. This small village only features four buildings, including the laboratory, so there isn’t much to do there besides beginning a journey to become the best trainer and collect all the badges and Pokemon from the Johto region.

A Pokemon player, nostalgic for the first village players encounter in Pokemon Gold and Silver, created a more modern version of New Bark Town in the style of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. They published this original creation on Reddit under the username addyxiii, sharing with other Pokemon fans this updated version of the iconic Johto town. While it keeps the same four houses as its original version, this reimagined New Bark Town is more lively, with several inhabitants hanging out with their Pokemon. Some pocket monsters are out there alone, enjoying the scenery and making New Bark Town look like a peaceful sanctuary for Pokemon and humans. The buildings are also more colorful than in the games, with different materials and layouts.

In the comments to this Reddit post, Pokemon players felt nostalgic about New Bark Town and its peaceful setting. They shared their favorite memories from the game, including the moment of choosing a starter Pokemon to begin their journey across Johto. Pokemon enthusiasts each have their own starter companion preference, but Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile all have their own fans. Besides sharing their favorite Pokemon memories, Reddit users also complimented the artist on this creation and stated they would love to see more creations done in the style of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen.

Creative Pokemon fans often share their own version of popular towns and pocket monsters from this game series. Some create regional variants for their favorite creatures, imagine what Pokemon would look like if they were humans, or even get tattoos to celebrate their love for this universe.
