The Pokemon Company has confirmed that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet won't be seeing Pokemon Home connectivity this month after all, despite recently allocating an incorrect date for the game's connection to the service. Players have been awaiting an update to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that would bring support for Pokemon Home since the Generation 9 titles were released in November, but it turns out fans are going to have to hold out a little longer. The features offered by Pokemon Home have become almost necessary for veteran fans of the franchise, as its main purpose is to provide players with a means of storing and trading their beloved Pokemon between games. Trading and transferring Pokemon is nothing new, harkening back to even the earliest Pokemon games, but it's no less important a feature for fans today than it was more than two decades ago. Being able to transfer powerful Pokemon from previous adventures can certainly make the newer games a breeze, but one of the most beautiful aspects of the Pokemon series as a whole lies in the genuine bonds that players make with their Pokemon over time.RELATED: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Raids CancelledAs a result, it's only natural that fans wish to keep their favorite Pokemon with them throughout each of their adventures in the world of Pokemon. While a tweet from The Pokemon Company earlier this week seemed to confirm that the Generation 9 games would finally be getting Pokemon Home connectivity on May 24, the company has since claimed that they "put the cart before the Mudsdale," going on to post an update clarifying that Pokemon Home support will not be coming to the latest games just yet. Though Pokemon Home offers plenty of other benefits as well, the need to bring in the old favorites is certainly the big reason why fans have been calling for Home support in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet since the games launched late last year.

While Pokemon Home version 3.0.0 is yet to receive its "actual" release date, The Pokemon Company has reassured fans that it will be dropping sometime soon. Understandably, the reveal of this setback has stirred up a lot of disappointment among fans that have been waiting half a year to transfer their old Pokemon to the Paldea region. Many in the community had expected the feature to be present around launch, but this long of a wait has only caused players to lose more faith in the team behind Pokemon.

With an abundance of bugs, performance issues, and graphical shortcomings, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet certainly didn't have the best of launches as is. Many fans remain unhappy with the state of the game, and frustrating glitches affecting the games' Tera Raid events leave many wanting more than just Home support after all this time.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available on Nintendo Switch.
