A Pokemon fan has shared their take on what Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur would look like if they had a Halloween twist. In recent years, Pokemon often gets into the spooky spirit around Halloween, hosting special events in titles like Pokemon GO to celebrate that these designs would be perfect for.

While some imaginings are fairly off the wall, there's some elements to this particular Halloween Bulbasaur family tree design that arguably combine the two perfectly.

Reddit user scrazyone1 shared their new designs with the internet of Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur reimagined as Halloween-themed Pokemon. Scrazyone1 chose to create them as 3D models, making them look like they've popped straight out of a game. As one can see, each iteration of the Grass/Poison-type family now has a pumpkin in place of the usual bulb on its back. Each pumpkin has a face like a jack-o-lantern. Bulbasaur and its evolutions themselves are also decorated with skull and bones designs, with Bulbasaur's face almost completely obscured by a skull pattern. As the Pokemon evolves, the bones become less prominent, while the pumpkin becomes larger and more menacing looking.

Fans in the comments were quick to share praise for the designs, giving the evolutionary family tree names like Spookysaur, Scarysaur, and Terrorsaur, while even dreaming up new lore and Pokedex entries for the trio. Scrazyone1 confirmed that they were working on additional designs, so fans may be able to look forward to some additionally spooky pocket monsters before Halloween arrives. The creator also makes the 3D model's files available for anyone who wants to print them out as physical figurines through their Patreon account.

It's not a big surprise that Pokemon fans love the creations, as the series has always had a bit of a spookiness to it. Ghosts and hauntings have been a part of Pokemon since Pokemon Red and Blue, with ghosts and ghost-type Pokemon even playing a big role in the early days of the Pokemon anime. Between the Pokemon series' unsolved mysteries and creepy Pokedex entries, the mostly lighthearted games seem to always have something slightly disturbing lingering underneath.

Adding Halloween evolutions variants or even new skins for every single Pokemon would be a difficult task for the developers with the series encompassing so many of them now. However, Pokemon fans will likely always be there to step in with creative ideas when autumn chill's is on the approach.
