One of the main goals in Pokemon GO is completing all the available Special Research tasks, which reward players with big XP boosts, story progression, and other rewards. However, there are times when Pokemon GO players may get stuck on Special Research quests because some tasks require them to catch Pokemon that are not always available in the game.

As far as Special Research quests go, many Pokemon GO players have found themselves stuck on the Season of Legends Special Research, as it's one of the only Special Research quests that have required players to obtain legendary Pokemon. Getting legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO is no easy task, as it requires players to win 5-star raid battles, which require multiple high-level players to participate if one hopes to be successful.

The Pokemon GO Season of Legends Special Research includes three tasks that players have been getting stuck on: taking snapshots of Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornadus. Doing this requires one to have one of the aforementioned legendary Pokemon in their collection, and soon players will have another opportunity to complete these quests.

Pokemon GO: When is Landorus Coming Back 2022

Landorus in Pokemon anime

Landorus is coming back to Pokemon GO on Tuesday, April 26 at 10:00am local time in the form of Therian Forme Landorus. Pokemon GO players who need to take a snapshot of Landorus to proceed to the next page of the Season of Legends Special Research will have until May 3 at 10:00am local time to catch him, at which point Landorus will be cycled out of the Pokemon GO legendary raids yet again.

Those that have already advanced to the other pages of the Pokemon GO Season of Legends Special Research will know that they will also need Thundurus and Tornadus. Tornadus returned to Pokemon GO a couple of weeks ago, while Thundurus is currently available in legendary raids, but will soon be replaced by new legendary Pokemon Tapu Bulu.

Any Pokemon GO players that still need any of these Pokemon after the April 2022 events are over shouldn't fret too much. Niantic will inevitably bring all three of them back to Pokemon GO at some point down the line. And maybe if fans are lucky, they could even appear as Field Research Breakthrough rewards, though nothing to that effect has actually been announced. Fans have been asking for legendary Pokemon to return to Field Research breakthrough boxes for quite some time, but so far Niantic has yet to give in to that particular fan demand.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
