Pokemon GO players have a new Legendary Raid Boss to face off against and this one is actually fairly useful in the Pokemon GO metagame. Terrakion has rotated into the level 5 slot, which means players will be busy facing off against the Rock- and Fighting-type for the about the next month.

To help out players who can't raid during business hours and might need to plan ahead for their raiding sessions, Pokemon GO is hosting weekly Legendary Raid Hours every Wednesday for the whole time Terrakion is in the level 5 slot. That means that players will be able to plan ahead and go battle Terrakion during windows where tons of extra level 5 raids are going to pop up (Be sure to review our Terrakion counters guide before heading out).

The weekly raid hours were announced via an in-game notification yesterday which confirmed that Terrakion would be the weekly legendary raid hour every Wednesday from 6-7pm until December 17. That means players can take a break from catching the best Unova region Pokemon in the game to add this Legendary to their Pokedex or grind raids for the best version of it.

The weekly Legendary Raid hours are very popular in the Pokemon GO community and make organizing raids much easier for players who don't have a ton of time. They're also a good opportunity to grind a bunch of Legendary raids in a row for hardcore players who are trying to catch the a version of Terrakion with near perfect stats. This combination of casual player friendliness and hardcore player usefulness seems to be the perfect recipe for a successful Pokemon GO event.
