Pokemon GO is adding the mega evolution of Gardevoir, a beloved Pokemon in the series, to the game during its Valentine's Day event. The Valentine's Day event during the Season of Mythical Wishes will feature all the classic love-themed and coupled Pokemon. There also will be different variations of Time Research tasks that will shake up the wild spawns during the event.

Valentine's Day in Pokemon GO marks the return of pink, flowery, and paired-up Pokemon that will be taking over for a few days. Thanks to the map update Niantic introduced to Pokemon GO, it's also possible that the scenery in-game will take on a Valentine's Day theme. Trainers can also celebrate the arrival of Mega Evolved Gardevoir, which has the potential to be the best Fairy-type in the game.

The Valentine's Day event in Pokemon GO starts February 8 at 10:00 AM local time, headlined by the debut of Mega Gardevoir in Mega Raids. Trainers that have been holding on to good IV or shiny Ralts caught over time and from other events can now evolve them into Gardevoir that can know the charged move Synchronoise, the featured attack for this event. Gallade will also be able to learn Synchronoise. Lucky trainers may encounter shiny Gardevoir after completing the Mega Raid. Mega Gardevoir is projected to be one of the best Fairy-type attackers in raids. Tapu Lele will also return to 5-star Raids during the event.

Frillish will have the male and female shiny forms available for the first time in Pokemon GO starting February 8. Other event wild spawns consist of male and female Nidoran, Illumise and Volbeat, Skitty, Woobat, Natural Form Furfrou, Morelull, and Red, Yellow, and Blue Flower Flabebe. Flabebe spawns will be regional: Red Flower Flabebe will spawn in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, Blue Flower Flabebe in Asia-Pacific, and Yellow Flower Flabebe will spawn in the Americas. Trainers will be able to change Natural Form Furfrou into Heart Trim Furfrou during the event.

The event bonuses will be extended lure module duration, up to two hours, and double stardust gained from opening Gifts from friends. The Lovely Wishes Timed Research with branched path rewards will choose either to receive additional Daily Incense time, extra XP, or extra catch Candy for the remainder of the event. This Time Research will reward players with Frillish that may have better odds of being shiny.

Interwoven within the Valentine's Day event is a Luvdisc Limited Research Day starting February 11 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Trainers will get Field Research tasks that reward Luvdisc and a new rotation Pokemon spawning in the wild. Slowpoke, Lickitung, Lileep, Miltank, Feebas, Spritzee, and Fomantis (no shiny.) Other collectibles like stickers and avatar items will be available until the event ends on February 14 at 8:00 PM local time.
