Pokemon GO's next major event, the Unova Celebration, is just around the corner. Although the big festivities don't start until tomorrow, it seems like part of the celebration went live a bit early this morning, though it seems to have disappeared once again by the time of this article's publication.

The Unova Celebration is the next step on a tour through each of the generation's that have been released in Pokemon GO so far. Part of the event will include a new kind of task to complete called a Collection Challenge. Although the event isn't live yet, and Unova spawns aren't appearing at increased rates as of this morning, the Unova Collection Challenge appeared in the Today View this morning and multiple users were able to capture screenshots before it disappeared.

The Collection Challenge looks pretty tough at first glance, but hopefully the increased Unova spawns that are about to kick off will make this challenge much easier to complete during the event window. The exact spawns and Raid Bosses for the Unova Celebration have not been confirmed yet, so trainers will have to wait another day to figure out how challenging things will really be.

Different weeks will highlight Unova, Sinnoh, Hoenn, and Johto, as Pokémon originally discovered in these regions will be appearing more often in the wild.

Stay tuned for more details this week on the Unova Celebration event, which begins on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Until then, here's a sneak peek at the challenge thanks to a screenshot Pokemon GO Hub managed to capture...

Pokemon GO Unova Collection

Unova Collection Challenge Catch List

Lillipup

Herdier

Zebstrika

Roggenrola

Solosis

Ferroseed

3ooo Stardust

30 Pokeballs

The item rewards aren't all that impressive considering the challenge associated with the task, but that likely won't stop many players from completing the task at hand anyway. So far, the Season of Celebration has been brining a lot of exciting events and features and the community seems to be staying engaged and active in the game throughout the winter months. As the celebration of each generation continues going forward, it will be interesting to see what other unique challenges and rewards Niantic brings to the table to keep the hype going throughout 2021.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events and enjoying the early days of the GO Beyond update, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
