Pokemon Legends: Arceus has a large pool of Pokemon that players can find and capture. On top of the normal and alpha versions of Pokemon, there are region-specific versions that players can find in their world. One Pokemon Legends: Arceus player recently pointed out, however, how closely one of these regional variants looks to a Pokemon GO glitch.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus brings players back in time to the Hisui region, home to sixteen Hisuian Forms. Pokemon GO is a 2016 augmented reality mobile game in which players explore in real life and capture Pokemon. Often, multiple Pokemon spawn in the same location leading to odd overlapping of designs.

This odd image is shared by u/fluoreto and it compares a glitch found in Pokemon GO with a Hisuian design players can see in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The focus of this post is on the Hisuian form Typhlosion (right) and a Typhlosion that has spawned in the same location as a Misdreavus in Pokemon GO (left).

These two variations of the memorable Pokemon inadvertently look almost identical. They look so similar that some players have remarked on the post that they believe that the Pokemon GO glitch was the inspiration of the Hisuian Typhlosion. With the Misdreavus popping out of the back of the Typhlosion’s neck and its beads around the front of its neck, this new look appears just like the unique flames around the Hisuian Typhlosion’s neck.

What u/fluoreto points out here is an interesting coincidence between a common glitch and a finished design. Though it is unlikely that this chance spawning of a Misdreavus and a Typhlosion on the same spot has anything to do with the cannon design of the Hisuian variant, the similarities are undeniable. With some color adjustment and minor editing touches, a fan could easily make one design from the other.

The various designs for the Hisuian forms of Pokemon continue the regional form tradition of giving a fresh look to a classic design in Pokemon games. Growlithe, Voltorb, and Typhlosion especially add an interesting variation to some of Pokemon's more recognizable designs.

Then again, sometimes regional variants of Pokemon miss the mark when it comes to redesigning Pokemon. Changes made to a design that players have already known are always at risk of splitting the fan base. Either way, this Pokemon fan points out an odd similarity between a bug and a regional form of Typhlosion.
