Despite all the physical restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on mobile titles such as Pokemon GO, Niantic's location-based game is still thriving. With The Pokemon Company continuously adding to its list of video games, Pokemon GO is provided with enough content fodder to keep its current player base highly engaged including the recent Festival of Colors event. In a recently made announcement, the mobile game is revising one of its regional events into a global one, and bringing back legendary Pokemon Tornadus to its 5-Star raids.

The raid cycle in Pokemon GO is likely one of the major reasons that players keep coming back to the mobile game. The most recent raid event involved Steel-type Pokemon Registeel, while the newest one celebrates the debut appearance of legendary Pokemon Tapu Koko in the game. No matter the legendary featured in 5-Star raids, fans of the mobile title likely enjoy the grind and always hope for a chance of a Shiny encounter in each challenge.

According to the official details shared about the Pokemon GO Festival of Colors global event, the Therian Forme of the legendary Flying-type Tornadus will be making a comeback in the game's 5-Star raids. Players who might have missed the chance to capture the legendary when it first arrived in Pokemon GO now have another chance to finally add the Pokemon to their Pokedex. Given that Tornadus is a pure Flying-type, bringing Electric, Ice, or Rock Pokemon during the raid will likely up player's chances to defeat the legendary.

Most players will likely recall that the first time Tornadus appeared in Pokemon GO, there was a Special Research activity that required players to take a snapshot of the Pokemon. During the new global Festival of Colors event, players are encouraged to take snapshots in order to receive a special surprise. Event details suggest that players may spot some Pokemon while taking photos, and may even encounter a Shiny Pokemon if they are lucky. However, even though Tornadus is part of raid encounters during the Festival of Colors, there is no clear indication that players will be able to meet the legendary Pokemon while taking snapshots.

Nevertheless, Pokemon GO's Festival of Colors event looks very exciting and promising. Not only is it bringing back Tornadus in its 5-Star raids, it also marks the first appearances of many Alolan Pokemon within the mobile title. For fans of the 7th generation of Pokemon, it is likely an event that cannot be missed.
