Pokemon GO features plenty of events to catch legendaries, battle in raids with friends, and catch adorable shiny Pokemon. Field research and Special Research are used as missions to help players get amazing rewards, but these tasks aren't always the easiest and can linger to beset players who start them.

Currently, many are celebrating the spooky season with the Halloween Mischief event that started earlier this month. However, some are still stuck on previous Special Research tasks that plague them each time they log in. The four-part Pokemon GO Special Research, Season of Legends, was released on March 9th and ended on June 1st. The research focused on ground-type Pokemon, the addition of shiny Nosepass, and the three legendary Forces of Nature Pokemon from the Unova region. These legendaries include the Therian Forme of Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus, which players needed to catch to complete the Special Research.

If Pokemon GO players started the quest before the deadline, they would still have access to it even though the event ended. Though many have been able to finish the first two steps, the last of taking a snapshot of each of the three Forces of Nature Pokemon proved to be more complicated than it sounds. To share their woes with others, Reddit user Vaporwarewolves posted a screenshot of the uncompleted task of snapping a photo of Landorus. They weren't the only ones with the research left incomplete, as the post has over seven thousand upvotes and more than five hundred comments. Many shared the poster's sentiments, with the quests for the other two legendaries left unfinished as well.

The issue comes in with the fact that the trainer must have caught Landorus in one of the five-star raids available during the event. Now that the event is over, the trainer will have to wait for the next event with the Pokemon or find someone willing to trade. Even if the trainer found a willing trade partner, the trade would take an enormous amount of stardust, and the other person would need to be within trading distance.

Though the comments remained sullen by the missed opportunity to complete the task, many remain hopeful for the next Pokemon Fest, where the legendaries may make another appearance. This would give players a chance to catch these Pokemon so that the field research may finally be complete and disappear from the list of research tasks. For now, players will just have to continue through the Halloween Mischief event to make sure they don't add more uncompleted tasks to their research list.

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS devices.
