Pokemon GO players who missed the recent Squirtle Community Day because of login issues will soon be getting a do-over, according to Niantic. Since its launch back in 2016, Pokemon GO has grown into a worldwide phenomenon with developer Niantic regularly rolling out new content. On top of this, minor and major events are now taking place at regular intervals, including monthly Community Day celebrations.

Community Days are special events that feature a single Pokemon that appears more frequently for a limited period of time. Players who haven't found a particular Pokemon or need more Candy to evolve it are always eager to see it featured during a Community Day. On top of this, Community Days often provide extra benefits, like an increased chance of Shiny Pokemon appearing or special attacks being unlocked when evolving the featured pocket monster. Unfortunately, lots of players were unable to participate during the recent Squirtle Community Day in Pokemon Go.

In a July 18 announcement, Niantic acknowledged that many players using Pokemon Trainers Club suffered login issues that prevented them from fully taking advantage of the Squirtle Community Day event. As such, the developer is holding a makeup event on July 23 that will give players another shot at catching all the Squirtles they can. It appears that this event will offer a complete redo, providing the same features, bonuses, and research rewards that players could take advantage of during the original event.

While the login issues fortunately only impacted a limited number of players, the makeup event will still be made available to everyone. So, players who missed the first event will be able to get caught up and players who were lucky enough to take part the first time will be getting a special bonus. Whichever category they fall in, many players will surely want to prepare for this second Pokemon Go Squirtle Community Day.

This isn't the first time login issues have impacted players. Back in 2018, Pokemon Go players were impacted by a Pokemon Trainer Club outage, and it seems these issues can still crop up from time to time. Still, it seems that Niantic is committed to making it up to players when these problems occur, and the company fixing the issue quickly and providing a makeup event speaks to this.

Squirtle may not be the most powerful Pokemon in the game, but it's still a classic going back to the original game. It has its own set of fans and was even celebrated when Ed Sheeran took part in a Pokemon Go event bringing back the Squirtle Squad. This upcoming event is one fans likely won't want to miss.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS.
