Pokemon GO announced a new Special Research that will mark the global debut of Shaymin in Niantic's game. April is approaching its last week, but Pokemon GO keeps bringing exciting new content. These announcements add new features to the game, giving players something to look forward to.

Pokemon GO recently announced a new Community Day Classic, giving the adorable Swinub another time in the spotlight. In addition, April was the month of Pokemon GO's Community Day featuring Togetic, an event in which players could capture Gen 2 Pokemon. Through these events, Pokemon GO players not only expand their teams with new Pokemon but also use the events to get items to level up Pokemon already captured, and build stronger teams to participate in clashes like PvP and Raids.

Pokemon GO has announced the new free Special Research Grass and Gratitude that will be available starting April 20 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Players who complete Special Research will earn an encounter with the rare Mythical Pokemon Shaymin, making this its global debut in Niantic's game. Shaymin debuted in Pokemon GO during Pokemon GO Fest 2022, where players encountered the Pokemon in the final part of the event. Those who captured Shaymin during Pokemon GO Fest 2022 don't need to worry as the new Special Research will also be available to these players, giving them another chance to encounter Shaymin.

Introduced in Gen 4, Shaymin is among the Pokemon seen so rarely that many question its existence. Because of its high rarity, this group has been given the title of Mythical Pokemon and includes other popular Pokemon such as Celebi, Mew, and Jirachi. Shaymin, specifically, is a Grass-type Pokemon that can appear in two forms: in Pokemon GO Fest 2022 players encountered Shaymin Sky Forme, which the Pokemon has the canine appearance of a small reindeer. In Special Research Grass and Gratitude, players will find Shaymin Land Forme, which is when the Pokemon looks like a hedgehog.

Despite the recent tensions and the demand for answers that have yet to come, Shaymin's arrival is good news for Pokemon GO players. The global debut of the Mythical Pokemon ends the nearly year-long wait, which had a lot of speculations about when Shaymin would be seen again. This shows that even though the relationship between Niantic and Pokemon GO players may have difficult moments, the developers keep working to provide engaging content for the Pokemon GO community.
