Like in the mainline games, there are plenty of Shiny hunters in Pokemon GO. These players search for Pokemon with different color palettes than their usual ones in order to collect them. Since these Pokemon are much rarer than their normal counterparts, they are in very high demand.
While there are no stat differences when comparing normal Pokemon to Shiny Pokemon, their fans are still very passionate about them. However, unlike the mainline games, Shiny forms of Pokemon aren't released alonside their normal counterpart in Pokemon GO. Instead, they are often released in small amounts during certain events.
In most cases, there is no way to guarantee a Shiny Pokemon to spawn for players. However, The following Pokemon cannot be found as a Shiny Pokemon no matter what players do in-game, as of August 2021.
Missing Shiny Johto Pokemon
Luckily for Shiny hunters, all of the Pokemon from the Kanto region have their Shiny forms implemented into Pokemon GO for players to find one way or another. This means that the first of the missing Shiny Pokemon are from the Johto region. These Pokemon are:
