As many Pokemon GO fans predicted, June's Community Day will put Larvitar in the spotlight. Tyranitar is incredibly important to the mobile AR game's meta, so this is likely the most important Community Day since Dratini.

Pokemon GO Community Day comes with a lot of great bonuses; including increased spawn rates for the featured monster, some kind of catch bonus, extended lures, a special move, and a shiny variant. Although the Pokemon GO shiny version of Tyranitar hasn't been added to the game yet, we can look to prior Pokemon games to see what is likely coming.

Compared to some of the other shiny variants, Tyranitar is definitely not a fan favorite. Considering how important the heavy hitter is to the raiding metagame, many players were hoping for something cooler to look at.

That said, there's always the chance that these colors will pop a little more than expected in the Pokemon GO environment. Hopefully the colors transfer well and fans are excited for the new shiny. Whether they like the colors or not, there's no denying that thousands of players will be running around on June 16 attempting to catch as many as possible.
