Niantic is adding 21 Paldea region Pokemon to Pokemon GO in September 2023. Pokemon GO is coming off its big Pokemon GO Fest 2023 event, which gave ticket holders the chance to catch the Mythical Pokemon Diancie. Pokemon GO fans should know that the new content for the augmented reality mobile game never really slows down, and so they will soon have the chance to catch even more Pokemon.

Niantic has been slowly pulling the curtain back on what Pokemon GO fans can expect from the game's September 2023 offerings. It recently confirmed Pokemon GO's new Community Day schedule, revealing Community Day events for September 2 and September 23. Fans are still waiting to learn what the September 23 Community Day has in store, but they know now that Charmander will be the featured Pokemon for the Community Day Classic on September 2.

The Community Day events are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Pokemon GO's plans for September 2023. Even more exciting is the introduction of brand-new Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, with 21 Paldea region Pokemon coming to Pokemon GO in September. The first batch will be added on September 5, consisting of Sprigatito, Floragato, Meowscarada, Fuecoco, Crocalor, Skeledirge, Quaxly, Quaxwell, Quaquaval, Lechonk, Oinkologne (Male), and Oinkologne (Female). The second wave of Paldea region Pokemon will come to Pokemon GO on September 10 and will feature Nymble, Lokix, Pawmi, Pawmo, Pawmot, Bombirdier, Frigibax, Arctibax, and Baxcalibur.

Pokemon GO fans can look forward to limited-time special events tied to the debuts of these Paldea region Pokemon. The first event takes place from September 5 at 10:00am to September 10 at 10:00am and will Unown spawns, Timed Research for Lechonk, the chance to get Gimmighoul coins without a Golden Lure Module, and a brand-new, completely free Special Research called Adventures Abound that has to be claimed at some point between September 5 at 10:00am and December 1 at 9:59am. After the event is over, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly will be added to the Pokemon GO 5 km egg pool, whereas Lechonk will be added to 2 km eggs.

The second event will take place from September 10 at 10:00am to September 15 at 8:00pm. Pokemon GO fans earned this extra event by completing the Ultra Unlock challenge during Pokemon GO Fest 2023. It will include many of the same bonuses associated with the first event, but will also give players the chance to get in on some paid Timed Research. When it's over, Frigibax will be added to the Pokemon GO 10 km egg pool.
