The Rising Shadows event started in Pokemon GO and will only last a few days. This event will allow players to get some Shadow Pokemon that they normally can't get in the wild. This event is Raid and Battle based, so be prepared to bring your best Pokemon to the front lines.

This guide will go over all the important elements of the Rising Shadows event in Pokemon GO.

Dates and Times For Rising Shadows Event

This event will take place from May 22 at 10 am local time through May 28 at 8 pm local time. This will allow players enough time to collect the various rewards and Pokemon available while the event is on.

Rising Shadows Field Research Tasks

Shadow Mewtwo Weaknesses and Resistances in Pokemon GO

Players can earn different event-exclusive rewards while spinning PokeStops while the event is going on in Pokemon GO. All the tasks can be found in the saved Field Research collection, and these can even be picked back up and completed after the event.

Here are the task and rewards for Raiding Shadows field research:

  • Catch 10 Dark-type Pokemon - 500 Stardust
  • Catch 10 Poison-type Pokemon - 500 Stardust
  • Defeat 2 Team Go Rocket Grunts - 1 Mysterious Component
  • Win a Raid - 100 Stardust

Shadow Mewtwo in Pokemon GO

Shadow Mewtwo will be returning for Shadow Raids; this will also be the first time a Shiny version will be available, but only if players are lucky. The Shadow Mewtwo will appear in five-star Shadow Raids during the event only.

New Avatar Pose

Rising-Shadow-Pokemon-Go

A new item has been added to the Pokemon GO shop, a pose called the "Rising Hero Pose." This can be found by going to the in-game shop and clicking the promotional advertisement. This new pose can also be found under the avatar poses in the character customization and selecting the new pose. It can then be purchased for 500 coins.
