Pokemon GO's Psychic Spectacular 2022 event has arrived, and it has brought a brand-new batch of Field Research tasks along with it. These tasks give players the opportunity to encounter four different Psychic-type Pokemon, and they can be obtained by spinning PokeStops. That said, some fans may want to know more about Pokemon GO's Psychic Spectacular 2022 Field Research before they put much effort toward pursuing it, and a complete list of its tasks and rewards can be found in this guide.
To note, the Psychic Spectacular 2022 event concludes on Monday, September 12 at 8pm local time. This means that players have less than one week to work on the event-exclusive Field Research. Fans that are interested in its rewards are thus advised to get out there and start spinning some PokeStops in PoGO sooner rather than later.

As players are sure to notice, there are two types of tasks featured in the Psychic Spectacular 2022 Field Research. The first type instructs fans to make Curveball Throws, and it serves as a nice counterpart to Pokemon GO's Psychic Spectacular 2022 Timed Research, which is also now available. The other type centers around spinning PokeStops and Gyms, and players should have very little trouble completing those tasks.
With respect to the Field Research rewards, all the Pokemon that can be encountered, aside from Hypno, have a chance to be Shiny. Notably, PoGO's Psychic Spectacular 2022 event marks the debut of Shiny Elgyem, and indeed players may encounter that special Pokemon upon completing the associated task. The aforementioned event-exclusive Timed Research also provides opportunities for finding a Shiny Elgyem, and fans should carve out some time for completing it.
Shiny Elgyem is not the only Pokemon debuting during the event, though, as Mega Alakazam will also be making its first appearance in the game. To encounter this Mega Evolution, players must turn their attention to Mega Raids, and they should plan on teaming up with some other Trainers before they engage the Pokemon in battle. Indeed, defeating Mega Alakazam in Pokemon GO can be difficult, and fans should not expect to be able to do so without some amount of assistance.
