A Pokemon GO player has reached level 40 without spending any money on the game. Pokemon GO is one of the most popular games available for Android and iOS, where players fulfill their dreams of becoming Pokemon trainers in real life.

Part of this popularity comes from Pokemon GO being a free-to-play game, meaning gamers don't have to pay anything to play. By leveling up and interacting with Pokemon GO's PokeStops, players get incense, revives, Pokeballs, and other items. If they wish, players can also buy these items using PokeCoins. These coins are the premium currency in Niantic's game and are available only when purchased with real money. But while Pokemon GO allows players to speed up their progress in the game at a cost, one dedicated person decided to take the opposite route.

Pokemon GO announces Party Play, a new feature that offers players a different way to gather friends and have fun with Niantic's game.

Reddit user RobSerial reached level 40 without spending any money on Pokemon GO. The trainer shared a screenshot showing their avatar and various account information and said they did it without ever joining Team Instinct, Mystic, or Valor. The statistics show that the player has caught 22,789 Pokemon and visited more than 8,000 PokeStops, something equally impressive. The figures also reveal a distance walked of 2,866.0 km and 20,001,843 XP earned for completing their challenge. The teams are the factions in Niantic's game and are led by some of Pokemon GO's hardest leaders. Each group is represented by a Legendary Pokemon from Gen 1, with Moltres as the mascot of Team Valor, Articuno of Mystic, and Zapdos of Instinct.

The other Redditors congratulated RobSerial on their achievement. One comment asked how they manage their Pokemon and item storage, as being a free-to-play player means not buying coins. They replied that they have no method of getting coins, so this aspect of Pokemon GO is the hardest hurdle they have to deal with. Another comment praised the achievement but said this would be the last level the trainer would reach under these conditions. The reason for this is that to hit level 41, one of the things the Pokemon GO player must do is win 30 Raids. But in order to join Raids, the player must first pick one of the Pokemon GO's three teams.

While RobSerial's achievement is impressive, this isn't the first time a Pokemon GO player has done something like this. For those Pokemon GO players who are already part of a team, the challenge is to reach level 50. Although it's not an easy task for trainers to reach level 50, doing so can hold something incredible for Pokemon GO players.
