Pokemon GO has been getting consistent updates and one of the most recent updates has introduced the Galarian forms for various Pokemon. This additionally includes the new evolutions obtainable from these Galarian forms. One of these Pokemon is the newest additions to the Zigzagoon line, Obstagoon.

Obstagoon is dual dark and normal-type that made its debut in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield before appearing in Pokemon GO. It evolves from the Galarian form of Linoone.

Players can find a Galarian Zigzagoon via hatching 7km eggs. Other Galarian forms of Pokemon already in Pokemon GO can also be hatched from these eggs as well.

Obstagoon has access to two different fast attacks. They are:

  • Counter
  • Lick

Obstagoon additionally has the choice between four different charged attacks. They are:

  • Cross Chop
  • Night Slash
  • Hyper Beam
  • Gunk Shot

Players wanting to know the best options for what to equip their Obstagoon with actually have a choice to make. None of the fast attacks provide Obstagoon with a same type attack bonus, but the best options for a charged attack are between Cross Chop and Night Slash. However, players should note that Night Slash provides a same type attack bonus while Cross Chop does not. With that in mind, a combination of Counter and Night Slash provide decent type coverage while also providing a move benefiting from Obstagoon's dark-typing.

With Obstagoon's typing and base power, it could become very helpful for players in the Ultra League, especially with multiple S-Tier Pokemon in the Ultra League having dark-type weaknesses such as Giratina and Cresselia. Its base attack is 180, its base defense is 194, and its max CP is 2652.

After hatching a Galarian Zigzagoon, it will take 150 Zigzagoon candies in total to get it to become an Obstagoon. Players don't need to worry about getting a new type of candy, as candy from normal Zigzagoons from Hoenn are also compatible with the Galarian Zigzagoon line.

While Pokemon GO is still active, players are advised to play safely and maintain proper social distancing from both players and non-players alike. Certain features such as remote raids have been made available for players unable to leave their homes.

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
