Pokemon fans have the release of New Pokemon Snap to look forward to on April 30th, 2021. To celebrate, Pokemon GO players can participate in the New Pokemon Snap Celebration event running from April 29th at 10:00 AM to May 2nd at 8:00 PM in players' local times.
With New Pokemon Snap being focused on taking photos of Pokemon, Pokemon GO players will also be taking photos of the various Pokemon they encounter for this event. This will mostly be done through the event's timed research tasks which will give players the opportunity to earn a variety of rewards. Players however can only complete these tasks while the event is active.
There are a total of four steps to the New Pokemon Snap Celebration event timed research tasks. The rewards range from special Pokemon encounters to berries and different kinds of Pokeballs. Some of the Pokemon encounters will give players the chance to catch Pokemon not commonly found in the wild in certain areas, making this very worth it for many.
Step One Timed Research Tasks
Take a snapshot of Metapod, Aipom, or Lotad in the wild - Five Pokeballs
Use three berries to help catch Pokemon - Bunnelby encounter
Take three snapshots of wild Pokemon - Meowth encounter
By completing all three of these tasks, players will be rewarded with a Dodrio encounter, five Nanab Berries, and 750 XP. Players will additionally be able to move on to the next step of the timed research tasks.
Step Two Timed Research Tasks
Take a snapshot of Sandshrew, Trapinch, or Cacnea in the wild - Ten Pokeballs
Use five berries to help catch Pokemon - Sandshrew encounter
Take three snapshots of wild Ground-type Pokemon - Onix encounter
This step's completion will award players with a Skarmory encounter, five Razz Berries, and 1,250 XP. If players complete the second task, they can use the Sandshrew encounter to take a snapshot, contributing to both the first and third tasks.
Step Three Timed Research Tasks
Take a snapshot of Chinchou, Finneon, or Ducklett in the wild - Ten Great Balls
Use seven berries to help catch Pokemon - Wailmer encounter
Take three snapshots of wild Water-type Pokemon - Quilfish encounter
After completing these tasks, players will get a Mantine encounter, five Pinap Berries, and 2,000 XP. Players will be able to find Chinchou, Finneon, and Ducklett among the increased wild Pokemon spawn rates, helping make the first task easier.
Step Four Timed Research Tasks
Take fifteen snapshots of wild Pokemon - Ten Ultra Balls
Take a snapshot of Dodrio, Mantine, or Skarmory in the wild - Skorupi encounter
Use ten berries to help catch Pokemon - 1,000 Stardust
Once all of these tasks are completed, players will get their final reward of a Clamperl encounter and 8,000 XP.
