Although Legendary Battle Raids steal most of the PvE spotlight in Pokemon GO, Mega Raids definitely still draw some attention and offer some exciting rewards for trainers. Just like Legendary battles, Mega Raids can be very challenging and players need to prepare for each fight now just by finding some friends and getting a Raid Pass, but also by forming a strategic counter roster to exploit the Mega Pokemon's weaknesses.
As each Battle Raid rotation comes and goes, players should take the time to check out who the incoming Mega boss is and update their counter roster accordingly. Pokemon GO trainers may need to use some Stardust, TMs, and Candy to properly prepare when a brand new boss shows up. When it comes to getting ready for Mega Slowbro, trainers are going to get a chance to put a wide variety of Pokemon to use in their counter lineups.
Pokemon fans may already be aware that Mega Slowbro has an interesting Water- and Psychic-type pairing. That dual typing opens this Mega Raid Boss up for a wide array of possible counter strategies that should make building a roster a little easier than usual for both new and veteran Battle Raiders who are preparing for this fight. The pairing gives it some interesting weaknesses including Ghost-, Dark- Grass-, Electric-, and Bug types.

Players should keep in mind that completing a Mega Battle Raid does not allow them to permanently add a Mega Pokemon to their collection. Instead, the reward with include an encounter with a regular Slowbro and some of the resources needed to later temporarily Mega Evolve Slowbro in the future. That said, the rewards are still well worth the effort, especially for players who participate in a lot of Battle Raids. Mega Pokemon are often the top tier counters, so having the temporary evolution ready in their arsenal is a powerful tool.
