Pokemon GO's Rising Heroes is well underway, and with that comes a slew of exciting events, including increased wild encounter rates for certain Pokemon, timed research events, and raids. As part of the Festival of Colors event, a Mega Medicham Raid has been announced. This event will see Mega Medicham popping up frequently in Raids, which can be accessed physically or remotely. Best of all - Mega Medicham can be shiny.

Mega Raids are especially challenging in Pokemon GO, but they offer some of the best rewards. As well as Stardust, Rare Candies, EXP, and Berries, they're a way to get valuable Mega Energy. This can be used to evolve Medicham into its Mega Form once it's been caught. Given how difficult and important they are, it's important to be prepared for Mega Raids when they happen - and this guide is all the player needs to ace Mega Medicham Raids.

When Are Mega Medicham Raids Happening?

pokemon go mega raids

Mega Medicham raids start on March 8, 2023, at 10AM Local Time. This means that some regions will have access to these raids a little sooner than others. This shouldn't be too much of an issue, however, as the event lasts until March 21, 2023, at 10AM Local Time. Plenty of time to get stuck into raids.

Mega Medicham Weaknesses

The Medicham line has an incredibly unique type combination - Psychic/Fighting. It's currently the only Pokemon line in the franchise with that typing. This makes it a fantastic asset, but a pain to beat. Players will want to counter with Ghost-, Fairy-, and Flying-type moves, as these are the only ones that will be super-effective.

Be sure to match the Pokemon type and move type to do STAB damage, as this will do an additional 20% damage.

Mega Medicham Resistances

Mega Medicham is resistant to both Fighting- and Rock-type, meaning those types will do half damage. These types are best avoided when joining raids. At the very least, Mega Medicham isn't immune to anything.

Best Mega Medicham Counters

There are a number of Pokemon that would do well as counters against Mega Medicham. Even if they aren't on this list, Pokemon that are Ghost-, Fairy-, and Flying-type that know Ghost-, Fairy-, and Flying-type moves will do the trick!
