Each raid rotation in Pokemon GO means that PvE fans need to adjust their saved counter rosters and consider optimizing their best Pokemon for a new batch of challengers. When it comes to Legendary and Mega Battle Raid bosses, a sound counter strategy is often the difference between victory and defeat.

Trainers can sometimes brute force a victory in Pokemon GO Battle Raids simply by entering the battle with a ton of allies, but that isn't always an option for players in more remote areas. It's also worth noting that maximizing damage output also leads to more balls being available during the encounter reward at the end of a successful Battle Raid. When it comes to preparing for Mega Manectric battles, trainers have a very simple strategy to keep in mind.

Mega Manectric is a pure Electric-type, which means that knowing which counters are best shouldn’t be much of a challenge at all. Trainers are going to simply need to bring their best Ground-type Pokemon to the battle. Ground-types have been relevant in the PoGO metagame from the earliest days of Battle Raids, which means that some trainers will hopefully already have many of the best counter options powered up with the right move sets and ready to strike.

Mega Manectric Weaknesses

This raid boss is an Electric-type, which means that Mega Manectric is weak to Ground-type moves in the mobile AR game.

Best Mega Manectric Counters

Garchomp - Mud Shot/Earthquake

Groudon - Mud Shot/Earthquake

Excadrill - Mud Slap/Drill Run

Rhyperior - Mud Slap/Earthquake

Landorus (Therian) - Mud Shot/Earthquake

Landorus (Incarnate) - Mud Shot/Earth Power

Krookodile - Mud Slap/Earthquake

Golurk - Mud Slap/Earth Power

Mamoswine - Mud Slap/Bulldoze

Gengar (Mega) - Shadow Claw/Shadow Ball

Donphan - Mud Slap/Earthquake

Golem - Mud Slap/Earthquake

As always, trainers should keep in mind that they do not need to have the exact Pokemon listed here in order to successfully survive this Battle Raid. The most important thing is to stick to exploiting the Battle Raid boss' weakness. In this case, that means bringing the best Ground-type Pokemon available into the fight and using any TMs needed to equip them with the best Ground-type moves possible. Trainers may also want to consider spending some Stardust and Candy to power up their roster a bit before heading into the big battle. Expending those valuable resources can be a difficult decision, but it should pay off thanks to the rewards of each successful Mega Raid.
