Anyone who has been playing Pokemon GO for at least a few months should be well aware of how important it is to carefully prepare a strategy before jumping into a Battle Raid. The game's Battle Raid system requires the expenditure of a Raid Pass for each battle, which means that players who waste precious resources on failed attempts are wasting a very useful item that isn't easy to come by consistently without spending some real world money.

To succeed in a Pokemon GO Battle Raid, especially a more difficult one like Legendary and Mega battles, trainers need to be familiar with the boss' weaknesses and potential counters. When it comes to a boss like Mega Aggron, that means carefully planning a roster of counter Pokemon that take advantage of its weakness to Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type move sets.

Luckily, there are a handful of things fans can do to prepare for a big fight like Mega Aggron. First off, they'll want to review this list of counters and try to see which Pokemon in their collection could be assembled into a viable counter roster. Once that step is finished, they may want to go on to spend some Stardust, Candy, and Elite TMs to power up that group of Pokemon to respectable CPs with the most reliable move sets for each option.

When it comes to actually battling Mega Agrron, it would be wise to enter the fight with a part of at least five trainers who are all using strategic counters. This won't be the most challenge battle players have ever faced, but it definitely requires a solid group of players. Like with any Mega Raid, players should keep in mind that they aren't actually going to add Mega Aggron to their collection at the end of the fight. Instead, they'll be rewarded with an encounter with regular Aggron and with Mega Energy that can be used to trigger a temporary Mega Evolution at some point in the future when it's most useful.
