Adventure Week is well underway and Pokemon GO trainers currently have a ton of special activities to enjoy during these early days of The Season of Go. In addition to all of the special spawns appearing as part of the event, there is also an exciting week of Battle Raid bosses in place at both the Legendary and Mega tiers.

Trainers likely just finished updating their list of Groudon counters to prepare for this week's Tier 5 Battle Raids, but some players may want an extra challenge and try to tackle some Mega Raids, as well. If that's the case, those Pokemon GO trainers will have another chance to battle against Mega Aerodactyl. This Mega boss has been around before, but trainers may still want to update their list of ideal counters just to be extra prepared.

Trainers who have survived this particular Battle Raid Boss before will know that Mega Aerodactyl is a dual type pairing that brings Rock- and Flying- to the battlefield. There's no change there from the Tier 3 version of the non-mega Battle Raid, but trainers will obviously need some heavier hitters and more allies for the Mega version. The most obvious weaknesses that players will want to focus on are Water-, Electric-, and Rock-types.Top tier Pokemon with one or more of those three types should be the best bet to easily defeat Mega Aerodactyl during its appearances from Tuesday, June 7, 2022, to Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Best Mega Aerodactyl Counters for June 2022

  • Zekrom - Charge Beam/Wild Charge
  • Rampardos - Smack Down/Rock Slide
  • Kyogre - Waterfall/Surf
  • Rhyperior - Ground/Rock
  • Swampert - Water Gun/Hydro Cannon
  • Dialga - Metal Claw/Iron Head
  • Magnezone - Spark/Wild Charge
  • Terrakion - Smack Down/Rock Slide

Players are going to want to keep in mind that the Mega Battle Raid can still be completed successfully without the exact counters listed in this particular guide. To make it out with an encounter earned, trainers should focus on exploiting the weaknesses and fielding a team of the best Pokemon available. For Mega Aerodactyl, that means identifying the best Water-, Electric-, and Rock-type Pokemon available and powering them up appropriately before the fight starts. To get the team in fighting shape, trainers may want to spend some Candy, Stardust, and TMs, as well. Players who follow those steps and stick to a group of 4+ players should have no problems powering through these battles.

Lots of other exciting Battle Raid bosses and events should be arriving as the early days of the Season of Go continue to play out. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
