Mega Battle Raids are an exciting affair in Pokemon GO and offer players a quick route to stocking up on one of the game's most valuable limited resources. Mega Raids are the quickest path to piles of Mega Energy, but trainers need to be careful to prepare for each of the challenging battles so that they don't end up wasting Revives, Potions, and Raid Passes along the way. The best way to avoid those mistakes is by studying ahead and time and carefully optimizing an ideal counter roster.
When it comes to squaring off against a powerful Grass- and Ice-type Pokemon like Mega Abomasnow, luckily there are some major weak points to exploit. This Pokemon GO Mega boss' unique dual pairing gives leaves it with a major weakness to Fire-type moves that trainers will want to keep in mind as they string together a counter roster for the big battle.
Top tier players with the perfect weather boosts can likely duo Abomasnow, but the average trainer is going to want to head into the fight with at least 3-5 trainers and some very strong counters. Players need to review their list of top tier Fire-types and use some TMs or Elite TMs to get the ideal move sets in place for this fight. It also wouldn't hurt to burn through some Candy at this point to power these Pokemon up to a higher CP. As a Grass- and Ice-type Pokemon, Mega Abomasnow is 2x weak to Fire-types moves and weak to Fighting, Flying, Poison, Rock, Bug, and Steel moves.

As always, keep in mind that this list of counters represents the strongest possible options, but there are plenty of other Pokemon who could still get the job done. Trainers should search their Pokemon collection by using the keyword "Fire" and go with a roster that seems the strongest based on those options. Trainers should also remember that they won't actually earn an encounter reward with a Mega Pokemon after completing this Battle Raid. Instead, they will earn an encounter with regular Abomasnow and a handful of Mega Energy to use for a temporary Mega Evolution in the future.
