Pokemon GO has announced one of the first events of May, which will also be the debut of Larvesta and Volcarona. April has been a busy month for Pokemon GO, with controversies, issues, and many events. Now Pokemon GO is gearing up for May by announcing new content for players.

It has been a long journey for Pokemon GO since its launch in 2016, with new content still added to the game on a regular basis. In late April, specifically, Pokemon GO players can participate in one of the last events in the month: the Community Day Classic featuring Swinub.

Pokemon GO has announced the new An Instinctive Hero event that will begin on May 2 at 10:00 a.m. and end on May 8 at 8:00 p.m. local time. The highlight is the Pokemon GO debut of Larvesta and Volcarona, which is also one of the best Fire-type in the Pokemon franchise. Larvesta will be available to hatch from 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs, and be evolved into Volcarona with 400 Larvesta Candy. The event will also feature bonuses such as double XP and Stardust, and an increased chance of hatching shiny Pokemon from 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km eggs.

In addition to the debut of new Pokemon, the event will have Mime Jr., Happiny, and Mantyke hatching from 7km eggs, making it a good opportunity for players to recruit these adorable baby Pokemon. Players will also be able to hatch shiny Mantyke, a first for Pokemon GO. 7km eggs will also hatch Timburr, Karrablast, Axew, Shelmet, and Goomy. The An Instinctive Hero event will have a free Seasonal Special Research, and a Special Research rewarding players with an Elekid encounter using a Spark-themed accessory. Completing Field Research tasks will reward encounters with Magneton, Chansey, Electabuzz, Magmar, Snorlax, Mantine, and Chimecho, with these Pokemon having a chance to be shiny.

The news of new Pokemon added is always a special highlight, as it shows that Niantic remains committed to expanding the game's Pokedex. However, controversial Pokemon GO issues have been a recurring problem, and part of the community has not been so excited about the game because of this. For those still active in the game, the slew of new content has made this a good time to play Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO is available on Android and iOS.
