Every month, Pokemon GO hosts a special Community Day event to not only help players better complete their Pokedex, but also help them get their hands on more shiny Pokemon. April 2022 featured two separate Community Day events for Pokemon GO players to participate in, with one being a Community Day Classic starring Mudkip and the other featuring the debut of Generation 7 Pokemon Stufful.

Now Pokemon GO can mark their calendars for the May 2022 Community Day. On Saturday, May 21 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm local time, Pokemon GO players can participate in a new Community Day event starring Alolan Geodude. Alolan Geodude has been readily available in Pokemon GO for quite some time, but this event will make it much easier for players to get a shiny version of the Pokemon.

Not only that, but the Pokemon GO May 2022 Community Day will also see the debut of a brand-new Fast Attack. If Pokemon GO players manage to evolve an Alolan Graveler into an Alolan Golem during the event or up to two hours after it's over, they will get one that knows Rollout. Rollout has 4 power when used in Trainer Battles, and 14 power when used in Pokemon GO Gyms and Raids.

As usual, the next Pokemon GO Community Day will also feature paid Special Research that players can buy into if they so desire. For $1.00, Pokemon GO players can complete the exclusive A Rocky Road Special Research story. If past Pokemon GO Community Day Special Research is any indication, A Rocky Road will likely consist of many tasks that require players to catch Alolan Geodude.

This kind of Pokemon GO Community Day Special Research is nothing new, but there is something new for fans to look forward to once the event is live. Starting with the Alolan Geodude Community Day, it will now be possible for Pokemon GO players to buy a Special Research ticket for their friends as a gift.

The usual event bonuses will also be live in Pokemon GO once the Community Day event starts on May 21. However, the Alolan Geodude Community Day isn't the only big event happening in Pokemon GO in May. There's also the Poni Island Special Research launching on May 10, not to mention the End-of-Season Special Research that players can unlock by completing all the previous Pokemon GO Season of Alola Special Research tasks. There will likely be even more events and things to look forward to that Niantic hasn't even shared with the community yet, so Pokemon GO fans should have no shortage of things to do in May.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
