May 4th is here and, in addition to a cause for celebration for Star Wars fans, that also means the first major Pokemon GO event of the month is going live. The Luminous Legends X event runs from May 4 through May 17 and trainers have a ton of exciting bonuses and features to enjoy during that time frame. As always with a big event, there will also be some timed tasks for fans to power through for additional exciting rewards.

The timed tasks for the Luminous Legends X event can be found in the today view and the chain contains seven steps. Pokemon GO players who manage to make it through the final tasks before the event closes will be rewarded with a Rainy Lure item in addition to lots of other items, Stardust, and encounters along the way.

The list of tasks actually includes some pretty time consuming ones this time around, so trainers should get started right away even though it's a longer event. In particular, taking the time to earn encounters with (and defeat) each of the Team GO Rocket leaders could slow a lot of players down. Otherewise, most of the tasks should be fairly easy to accomplish considering the special event spawns and other features.
