The first week of June is coming to an end, but players still have a bit of time to battle this month's first big tier five raid boss. The Season of Go is bringing a lot of exciting events with carious Legendary Pokemon to battle, but Pokemon GO is kicking the month off with the return of an old but popular enemy to battle.

Kyogre is back in Pokemon GO this week and players have until June 7 to throw down against the powerful Water-type Pokemon and add it to their collection. If players are lucky, they may even encounter a shiny version of the Legendary after a successful battle. A lot of time has passed since Kyogre's debut in the mobile AR game, but the creatures is still very powerful, so players will likely want to ensure they have some power counters prepared for the fight.

Kyogre is still a very popular Pokemon GO in the PvE and PvP metagame, which combined with the shiny chance should make this a popular Legendary Battle Raid week. Kyogre is a Water-type, which means it is weak to both Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon. That leaves players will plenty of popular options when it comes to building a counter roster. Some players have have an old roster saved from Kyogre's last appearance, but it would be a good idea to revisit that list and consider if everything is optimized to the current best counters before the fight begins...

As always, players need to remember that it's very possible to succeed in this Battle Raid without the exact counters mentioned here. The main thing players need to do to succeed is enter the Battle Raid with enough allies (probably at least five in this case) and stick to a roster that exploits Kyogre's weaknesses. That means using the best Electric- and Grass-type Pokemon that they have at their disposal.

Trainers may also want to check out their current inventory when it comes to Stardust, Candy and TMs to decide if it's worth utilizing some resources here to make this fight easier. Concentrate on spending resources on Pokemon that have the highest likelihood to be useful again in future Battle Raids.

Players should be able to tackle other exciting Battle Raid bosses as the early days of the Season of Go continues. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
