Kecleon is a Normal-type Pokemon that made its Pokemon GO debut following the January 2023 Community Day. While Kecleon is not particularly difficult to catch, the method by which it is obtained is unique. This guide is here to provide details on that method, and it will help players add Kecleon to their collections in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon GO: How to Catch Kecleon

Players that are on the hunt for a Kecleon in Pokemon GO should simply tap every PokeStop that they encounter. Fans that take this approach will eventually find a PokeStop that they are unable to spin due to their being "an invisible obstacle" in the way. That invisible obstacle is Kecleon, and players should see its translucent form climbing on the PokeStop's disc.

Upon locating a translucent Kecleon, players should repeatedly tap on it, forcing the Pokemon to jump off the disc and to appear on the over-world map. Fans are then free to exit the PokeStop that they have selected, tap on the Kecleon, and catch it as they would any other wild Pokemon in PoGO. Again, th process should not be very challenging, though players may want to use berries, high-performance Poke Balls, and curveball throws to make the catch as easy as possible.

One final thing to mention is that auto catchers are capable of spinning PokeStops that are inhabited by Kecleon. If such a spin occurs, Kecleon will not spawn on the over-world map, and players will need to wait for the PokeStop to refresh if they want a chance to catch the chameleon-like Pokemon. As such, fans that use auto catchers and want to avoid that situation are advised to disable their devices while they are hunting for Kecleon.

Pokemon GO: Can Kecleon Be Shiny?

While it is not possible to catch a Shiny Kecleon at the time of writing, that will change in the very-near future. Specifically, Shiny Kecleon is set to debut in Las Vegas as part of a special Hoenn Tour event that will occur on February 18 and 19, 2023. Pokemon GO players need not travel to Las Vegas in order to catch a Shiny Kecleon, though, as it will be available worldwide once the global Hoenn Tour event begins on February 25.
