Pokemon GO closed out its Season of Celebration (the game's first officially branded season) with a massive ticketed Pokemon GO Tour: Kanto Event. The event was generally well-received with fans and offered players the chance to catch a ton of shiny Pokemon, complete the Kanto dex if that wasn't already finished, and pick up some experience and badge progress.

Despite the actual features of the event going over well, apparently there were some technical issues. It seems that some  Pokemon GO players were who had not purchased a ticket were able to access parts of the event that were meant to be part of the paid experience only. To help make paying customers feel like they didn't pay for something that everyone had access to, Niantic is offering a bonus event for only those who originally purchased a ticket.

The Kanto Tour bonus event is going to span a full month, but don't get too excited. It's a fairly simple event that is going to offer some powerful items for players who complete a special Timed Research chain during that time frame. The full list of items up for grabs is pretty tempting...

"Due to a technical issue that occurred during Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto, some Trainers were able to access the ticketed portion of the event without purchasing a ticket. We apologize for this issue, and to help Trainers who purchased a ticket feel like they are receiving its value, paid ticket holders will be able to participate in a bonus event."
