Now more than ever, it appears that Pokemon GO has managed to make a resurgence amongst the masses, with the game having its highest grossing day ever just a few weeks ago. The game's developer, Niantic Inc., doesn't appear keen to let things slow down either, as plans to roll out the Legendary Mewtwo have now been made clear. As it turns out, however, this won't be as easy a task as previous Legendary Raids have been.

Much like the Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, and Lugia raids that have been a massive focus for Pokemon GO players as of late, Mewtwo's debut will functioning similarly – albeit through an invitation system. Niantic detailed how to go about receiving these exclusive invites and how battling the Legendary Psychic-type will play out.

"To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving them ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss."

It's an interesting premise for those willing to commit time to trying to organize a Mewtwo raid, but it could prove to be more difficult in smaller communities. Although not impossible, this means that players will have to be on point with informing those around them about where and when they received these exclusive raid invites in order to build up a considerable number of teammates. Mewtwo is one of the most powerful creatures in the series, after all, and it will likely take a number of users to take it down.

Since Lugia, Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres are now popping up as raid options worldwide, there's enough incentive for users to keep executing raids on nearby gyms – potentially receiving Mewtwo invitations along the way. Those Legendary birds will continue to appear until the end of August, although Mewtwo's emergence is currently without an end date.
