During this event, you'll want to complete the Research Tasks to get the chance of having an encounter with Inkay. The tasks you'll need to complete just include catching a multitude of Dark-Type Pokemon, which you will already be doing as you search for Inkay. The second part of the event will require you to catch some Shadow Pokemon, which usually appear during Raids.
Inkay will also receive a boosted appearance rate during Psychic Spectacular events in Pokemon GO. These usually occur once every year, often in the month of September. Completing Field Research tasks during this event, such as making an excellent curveball throw, can possibly give you the chance to have an encounter with Inkay. How to Evolve Shiny Inkay in Pokemon GO
When evolving Shiny Inkay in Pokemon GO, you'll end up with a Shiny Malamar. Although you might think that there's another method that is used to evolve Shiny Inkay, it is actually the same as evolving from a regular Inkay to Malamar.
