How to get Dusk Lycanroc Evolution
Rockruff was first released on March 1, 2022, but trainers were left disappointed when they realized they were not getting its three evolution types. Fortunately, this will no longer be a problem as Dusk Lycanroc will be making its grand debut on January 6, 2024, when the Lustrous Odyssey will commence.
The Lustrous Odyssey event will conclude on January 10, 2024.
Once the Lustrous Odyssey commences, trainers can evolve Rockruff into Dusk Lycanroc, but the chances of that happening are entirely random. Regardless, trainers must ensure they have 50 Rockruff candies on hand for the evolution to occur.
Since there is no guarantee that a Rockruff will evolve into Dusk Lycanroc, trainers should capture several of them to be on the safe side. Also, there is another way to tell if a Rockruff will evolve to Dusk Lycanroc, and it involves examining its information page and the evolution button. If the information page has a Lycanroc silhouette on all fours with a lot of spikey hair, then the Rockruff will evolve into a Lycanroc.
The Dusk Lycanroc is smaller and has spikier hair than its Midday counterpart, while the Midnight form is instantly recognizable since it stands on its hind legs.
How to get Shiny Dusk Lycanroc
Interestingly, trainers cannot catch a shiny Dusk Lycanroc, but they can evolve a shiny Rockruff into a shiny Dusk Lycanroc.
When the Lustrous Odyssey event commences, trainers can encounter Rockruff and its shiny variant by completing the following tasks:
- Field Research Task Rewards
- 2KM and 7KM Egg Hatches
- 1-Star Raids
Once players have a shiny Rockruff, they can follow the steps above to evolve it just like with a regular Rockruff.
