Pokemon GO has no end for the monthly events offering multiple Research Tasks. Some tasks are open for years, while some are time-limited, like the recent “In the Rough” Timed Research. Trainers with the GO Fest 2023 ticket can participate in this exclusive Research and earn rewards like an encounter with Carbink.

Carbink is a dual Rock and Fairy-type that shows extreme endurance in PvP or PvE battles. The monster has an immense defense in compensation for its attack stat, as seen in its stat spread. With 95 (ATK), 285 (DEF), 137 (STA), and a maximum Pokemon GO CP of 1658, Carbink performs like an absolute Tank during battles. That said, there are multiple tasks one needs to complete before getting Carbink, and here’s everything to know.

Carbink also appears as a 2-Star raid boss, so understanding its meta helps players defeat and encounter the monster. The dual typing of Rock and Fairy makes it weak to

Grass, Ground, Water, and mainly vulnerable to Steel-type moves in Pokemon GO. It can also resist Dragon, Bug, Dark, Fire, Flying, and Normal-type attacks, so avoid using such types while raiding. One should select proper counters with STAB potential attacks aligning with the monster’s weakness.

Pokemon GO: Can Carbink Be Shiny?

Shiny Carbink in Pokemon GO

Since Carbink has just debuted in Pokemon GO, many wonder about its Shiny variant. Niantic developers are infamous for holding Shiny releases, and some monsters only get a Shiny release after years. The same case applies to Shiny Carbink; it hasn’t yet seen the light of release. It is better to stop searching for Shiny Carbink as Niantic hasn’t released the variant, but they will eventually.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS.
