Pokemon GO players that have received their Cosmog by completing the first step of the 'Cosmic Companion' questline should be happy to know that Cosmog can now be evolved. As of October 5, the in-game Special Research Tab has been updated to continue the 'Cosmic Companion' questline --by completing a simple step, players can evolve their Cosmog into Cosmoem.
Those that have completed steps 1-3 in Pokemon GO's Cosmog questline should see a new task ready to go. It requires players to catch a single Pokemon. Once players do that, they'll be rewarded with 25 Cosmog Candy, 3000 XP, and 1000 Stardust. The next step requires players to evolve Cosmog --here's how to do it.
How to Get Cosmog in Pokemon GO
Pokemon GO players were able to get a Cosmog Encounter as a reward for completing the first step of the Cosmic Companion Special Research. This kicked off on September 1, 2022.
Players that still don't have Cosmog can check out the tasks by pressing on the binoculars icon in the bottom right corner of the main screen. Look at the Special Research tab to find the first tasks for the Cosmic Companion questline, which are as follows:
- Catch 15 Pokemon
- Make 10 Curveball Throws
- Catch 15 Psychic-Type Pokemon
Once the tasks are completed, players will get to meet Cosmog and have a chance to capture it.
How to Evolve Cosmog in Pokemon GO
Just follow these steps to learn how to evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem in Pokemon GO:
- Go to the main screen on the Pokemon GO application.
- Press on the big Poke Ball at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on 'Pokemon' to see the storage.
- Search for Cosmog using the Search bar on top or scroll until it's found.
- Now that Pokemon GO players have lots more Cosmog Candy, it can evolve.
- If players go to the Cosmog screen to find that it only says 'Power Up,' try closing the application and restarting it. There should be a button that says 'Evolve' underneath 'Power Up.'
- Use the 25 Cosmog Candy to finally evolve Cosmog into Cosmoem.
How to Evolve Cosmoem into Lunala or Solgaleo in Pokemon GO
Now that the rest of the Special Research steps have been added, Pokemon GO players can evolve their Cosmoem into Lunala or Solgaleo. By completing step 8/12, which is to catch 3 Pokemon, trainers will get 50 more Cosmog Candy.
Players should now have at least 100 Cosmog Candy to evolve Cosmoem. To evolve it, click on the Poke Ball in the center of the home screen and then go to the Pokemon section to search for Cosmoem. Click on Cosmoem's page, and there should be a button underneath that shows grayed-out images of Lunala and Solgaleo. If it doesn't show up, force close the app and try again.
There will be one button to evolve into Solgaleo and another to evolve into Lunala. However, the Psychic/Steel-type Pokemon, Solgaleo, can only be obtained if players evolve Cosmoem during the daytime. On the flip side, Cosmoem will evolve into Lunala, the Psychic/Ghost-type legendary, during the nighttime.
