The Festival of Colors in Pokemon GO is underway - and it's Bruxish's time to shine. While the Alolan fish isn't the most popular Pokemon out there, it certainly fits the event's colorful theme. Along with Mega Medicham, Bruxish makes its Pokemon GO debut during this festival - and it's here to stay - though it's likely to have a significantly lower wild spawn rate once the event is over. Read on to find out how to catch Bruxish in Pokemon GO.

How To Catch Bruxish In Pokemon GO

bruxish pokemon go

There are no special conditions for catching Bruxish in Pokemon GO - it spawns in the wild and one-star raids. Players looking to catch the Gnash Teeth Pokemon for the Collection Challenge can use the following tips to secure that prized Pokedex entry.

Use Incense

Using Incense increases the wild Pokemon spawn rate around the player, wherever they move. This effect is only beneficial to the player using the Incense.

Lure Modules

Lure Modules are a classic feature of Pokemon GO. Placing a Lure Module on a nearby Pokestop increases the spawn rate of wild Pokemon in the area for every player, so they can be useful for catching Bruxish.

'Nearby' Feature

Players may find it useful to check the 'nearby' feature in the bottom-right of the screen, as this can help identify when Bruxish is nearby and where to catch it.

One-Star Raid Counters

Bruxish has the reasonably rare dual-typing of Water/Psychic, and as such, is weak to Bug-, Dark-, Electric-, Grass- and Ghost-types. As it can only appear in one-star raids, there's no need to pull out the big guns - any Pokemon that knows moves of those types will do. Dark types may be especially useful, as they are immune to Psychic damage.

One-star raids can be easily defeated by any solo trainer, regardless of level. That being said, it has resistances against Fire-, Fighting-, Psychic-, Ice-, Steel-, and Water-types, so it is best to avoid these in raids.

Can Bruxish Be Shiny In Pokemon GO?

Unfortunately, the shiny version of Bruxish cannot be caught in Pokemon GO. Rarely are players given the chance to catch the shiny version of a Pokemon on its debut event, so anyone looking to snag the neon shiny will have to wait for a future event.

Can You Evolve Bruxish In Pokemon GO?

As in the main series games, Bruxish does not have an evolution in Pokemon GO. This means players can spend less time hunting down Bruxish to farm candy and more time enjoying the Festival of Colors.

Pokemon GO is available for free on Android and iOS mobile devices.
