One first requires to locate Sierra before the actual battle commences. Pokemon GO players must defeat six Grunts and gather enough Mysterious Components to build a Rocket Radar. Once the radar completes, it will lead players to one of the Team GO Rocket Leaders. But defeating Sierra takes quite a lot of strategizing and proper knowledge of the game’s type-meta.

How to Beat Sierra in Pokemon GO

Sierra becomes extremely unpredictable with seven powerful Shadow Monsters in her Pokemon GO battle roster. The match consists of three phases; the initial phase has one fixed opponent, and the latter two phases have three potential opponents each. Clearing the second and third phases requires extensive Pokemon GO type-knowledge, and players require powerful counters to come victorious.

Sierra's First Phase Counters

Shadow Murkrow Counters

The Shadow Monster, Murkrow, is a dual Dark and Flying-type critter resistant to Dark, Ghost, Grass, Ground, and Psychic-type attacks, but it is weak against Electric, Fairy, Ice, and Rock-type moves.

Sierra's Second Phase Counters

Shadow Steelix Counters

Shadow Steelix is a dual Steel and Ground-type monster weak to Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Water-type attacks. The Pokemon GO Shadow Monster has a long resistance pool comprising, Poison, Electric, Rock, Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, Normal, Psychic, and Steel-type moves.

Shadow Swampert Counters

The dual Water and Ground-type Shadow Swampert is only weak to Grass-type attacks and can resist Electric, Fire, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type moves with ease.

Shadow Staraptor Counters

Shadow Staraptor is a dual Normal and Flying-type, weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock-type attacks in Pokemon GO. That said, the Shadow Pokemon can fairly resist Ghost, Ground, Bug, and Grass-type moves.

Pokemon GO’s dual Dark and Fire-type Shadow Houndoom has a list of resistances. The monster is weak to Fighting, Ground, Rock, and Water-type attacks but can resist Psychic, Dark, Fire, Ghost, Grass, Ice, and Steel-type moves in battle situations.

Shadow Dragonite Counters

Shadow Dragonite has dual Dragon and Flying-type attributes, making it weak to Dragon, Fairy, Rock, and mostly Ice-type attacks. That said, the Shadow Pokemon can resist Grass, Ground, Bug, Fighting, Fire, and Water-type moves.

Shadow Charizard Counters

The dual Fire and Flying-type Shadow Charizard falls under a few of the most powerful Shadow Monsters in Pokemon GO. Weak to Electric, Rock, and Water-type attacks, the Shadow Monster can fairly resist Bug, Grass, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Ground, and Steel-type moves.
