Pokemon GOGreat League is among the fan favorites, given the league's rewards and CP limit. Niantic has announced a twist to the league in the form of the Great League Remix. The change comes in the form of enthusiasts having to rethink the team they would typically have for the Great League. Both leagues run in parallel, with the Remix format switching things up completely.

Pokemon GO's Great League Remix started in July 2023. Most rules between the two will be similar, with the max CP cap of 1500 still in play; however, the 20 most-used Pocket Monsters ranked level Ace and above are restricted from participation. It is difficult to say what the 'best team' for the Great League Remix will be; that entirely depends upon what kind of monsters players encounter during the battle. However, there's a list of monsters who can put up a good fight under the CP cap.

Regirock

Since the Registeel ban in the Great League Remix, Regirock can be an excellent option for enthusiasts. The legendary Rock-type has a stat spread of 179 attack, 309 defense, and 190 stamina and can easily fill the shoes of Registeel with its impressive defense stat.

The monster is resistant to Fire, Flying, Normal, and Poison-type moves but is vulnerable to Fighting, Grass, Ground, Steel, and Water-type attacks. Regirock's Fast Move, Lock On, is effective in challenging scenarios, and its Charged Move, Stone Edge, possesses tremendous power at a low cost. Pokemon GO players can opt for another Charged Move, Focus Blast, as a brutal secondary attack during battles.

Mandibuzz

Mandibuzz is a dual Dark and Flying-type with versatile capabilities across different leagues. Players often consider it an excellent choice for the Great League Remix due to its high bulk and a stat spread of 129 attack, 205 defenses, and 242 stamina.

The dual type resists Grass, Ground, Dark, Ghost, and Psychic-type attacks in Pokemon GO. It is vulnerable to Ice, Electric, Fairy, and Rock-type moves and can withstand many other types. The Fast Move, Snarl, can generate excellent energy and quickly charge other moves. Its Charged Moves, Foul Play, and Aerial Ace can have significant STAB damage.

Carbink

Carbink is a dual Rock and Fairy-type Pokemon rising through the Great League rankings. Although it is tough to catch Carbink, players who have one at their disposal have an advantage. The monster's stats spread to 95 attack, 285 defenses, and 137 stamina.

Carbink is resistant to Dragon, Bug, Dark, Fire, Flying, and Normal-type attacks and is weak against Grass, Ground, Steel, and Water moves. Players can opt for its Fast Move and Rock Throw and combine its Charged Moves, Rock Slide, and Moonblast for a great STAB moveset.

Scrafty

The Dark and Fighting-type Scrafty can be a handy pick for the Great League Remix after being eligible for the league this season. It has a stat spread of 163 attack, 222 defense, and 163 stamina and possesses an impressive bulk.

The monster resists Ghost, Psychic, Dark, and Rock-type moves while being vulnerable against Fairy, Fighting, and Flying attacks. Players can go for its Fast Move Counter, arguably the best in the game. Power-Up Punch can be the primary Charge attack, while Foul Play is a secondary attack inflicting Dark-type damage.

Cresselia

The Legendary Cresselia, a Psychic-type, makes the list for the Great League Team Remix for players who have it under the CP cap. The monster has a stat of 152 attack, 258 defense, and 260 stamina, making it a formidable force during battles, able to grind its way to victory.

The monster resists Psychic and Fighting-type while being vulnerable against Dark, Ghost, and Bug-type attacks. Regarding Fast Moves, players can opt for Psychic Cut, with sound energy generation. Its Charged Moves Moonblast stands out as another move, Grass Knot providing extra coverage.

Machamp

The attacking Fighting type isn't banned from the Great League Remix, hence making the list. Its stat spread of 234 attack, 159 defense, and 207 stamina speak for its great attacking ability. Machamp is one of the best-attacking types players can choose in Pokemon GO.

The monster resists Rock, Bug, and Dark-type moves while being resistant to Psychic, Flying, and Fairy-type attacks. Its Fast Move Counter is one of the best in the category. Players can mix it up with the Charged Move Cross Chop, making a great STAB moveset. The other Charged Move, Rock Slide, can be used as a second attack to cover Flying-type attacks.

Whiscash

Whiscash is an excellent choice for the Great League, and that doesn't change for the Great League Remix; instead, it amplifies. The dual Ground and Water-type Pokemon has a stat spread of 151 attack, 141 defense, and 242 stamina.

Adding to its usefulness in the Great League Remix is the monster's weakness against only Grass-type moves. Its Fast Move Mud Shot comes with excellent energy gain, giving it access to its Charged Moves. The Charged Move, Mud Bomb, comes with a low cost, while another move, Mud Bomb, can cause incredible damage.

Vigoroth

Vigoroth is a Normal-type and an excellent choice for the Great League Remix. It has a stat spread of 159 attack, 145 defense, 190 stamina, and notable durability during PvE and PvP battles in Pokemon GO.

The monster's weakness comes only in Fighting-type moves form, so players should avoid matching Vigoroth with Fighting-type attackers. Players can also use its Fast Move and Charged Moves like Counter, Body Slam, and Brick Break to rage their attack upon opponents.
