There are many different Poke Balls in Pokemon GO. However, the Master Ball had been missing for a while, but wait no longer as the day has come. Players can now get Master Balls, which are superior to all the rest, as they ensure players get the Pokemon they are trying to catch.
Pokemon GO is now welcoming the Master Ball to its lineup after the game being out since 2016. How To Get The Master Ball
The Master Ball became available in Pokemon GO in May 2023 and the only way to get one is to participate in the Let's Go Special Research in the Season 10: Rising Heroes. After a player has completed step number 5, they will be rewarded a Master Ball, which is a purple and pink-looking Poke ball.
Players can only access Season 10 until June 1, so be sure to sign in before then to receive a Master Ball. Below are the steps required to complete Step 5 and receive a Master Ball in the Let's Go Special Research.
Step 5
- Catch 25 Pokemon (2500 Stardust)
- Defeat 3 Team GO Grunts (3 Hyper Potions)
- Make 3 Excellent Throws (Farfetch'd Encounter)
- Evolve 5 Pokemon (2500 Stardust)
- Battle in a Gym 3 times (5 Revives)
- Total Rewards: 1 Master Ball, 1000 XP, 1000 Stardust
When To Use The Master Ball
Using a Master Ball is only for special occasions, as these balls are a rare find and have a great purpose. A Master Ball assures that the trainer catches a Pokemon without the chance of the ball missing or a Pokemon breaking free. That means players are promised to catch whatever they throw it at.
This ball is a great choice to be used on Legendary and Shiny Pokemon. With such confidence in one single ball, it is worth using it if a player really wants to catch that Pokemon. However, don't use it at just any given time either, make sure it is a worthwhile opportunity before using a Master Ball.
How To Use The Master Ball
Like any other Poke Ball in Pokemon GO, it can be thrown at a desired Pokemon. However, players might ask, "what happens if I miss?" No worries there, even if a player misses with a Master Ball, they will still be promised to capture the Pokemon. That's why this Poke Ball is a trainer's best friend.
Players can throw the Poke ball as far to the left or right, or even over the Pokemon's head, and they will still see the animation of the ball opening up to catch it. The cut scene which players see will be a little different since the ball is specially prepared for other balls in the series.
Can You Get More Master Balls?
Sadly, not everyone might be able to hop on the game before June 1 to get the Master Ball reward, or some trainers might find an opportunity to use up their ball early on and want another. For now, this is the only way to get a Master Ball. Nevertheless, Niantic has confirmed that there will be "future opportunities in Pokemon GO to acquire more."
As of right now, there isn't a way to determine how long it will be before players get an opportunity to get another Master Ball, but players can hope that it won't be long. They might even get a chance to purchase them at later dates or win them in boxes. But most likely, these balls will be received more in the same way.
Remember to choose carefully when to use the Master Ball, as for now, players won't be able to get another. Be it a Shiny or Legendary spawn, know that it can be easily scooped up with the Master Ball without fail whatsoever.
