Before players start their searches for Binacle and Barbaracle, there is an important thing to note. While both Pokemon have been added to the game, only Binacle at this time can be encountered in the wild. If players want Barbaracle, they will have to evolve Binacle into one with 50 Binacle candies.

Pokemon Binacle

The first way that players can find Binacle is through normal wild Pokemon encounters in the Pokemon GO overworld. From 10:00 AM on April 20th to 8:00 PM on April 25th, Binacle will be among the increased wild Pokemon spawn rates for the Sustainability Week event. It however will be among other Pokemon with increased spawn rates, so players may still have to search out for it.

Another way to encounter Binacle is by completing one of the Sustainability Week field research tasks. If players complete the "use three Golden Razz Berries to help catch Pokemon" task, a guaranteed encounter with Binacle is given as a reward. Players however should note that this is the only field research task with Binacle as a reward, so none of the others will help find this Pokemon.

Yet another way to get Binacle is by defeating it as a one star raid boss. Like many of the other one star raid bosses, a majority of players should be able to take it down and capture it without the need for help from other players. Defeating Binacle as a raid boss additionally can reward players with Golden Razz Berries which can be helpful for the previously mentioned field research task.

Finally, the last way to quickly find and capture Binacle is by completing the Sustainability Week timed research tasks. If players make it to the third part of the timed research tasks they will get the "use an incense" task. The reward for this specific task is an encounter with Binacle, but this reward can only be received once.
