Pokemon GO's Festival of Lights event is now underway, and it adds two new Pokemon to the game. Those Pokemon are Morelull and its evolution Shiinotic, and there are a couple of ways that players can go about catching them. One of those ways is to work through the Festival of Lights Timed Research in Pokemon GO, a two-part set of Research that will be fully detailed in this guide.

To note, the Festival of Lights Timed Research will only be available until Monday, October 17 at 8pm local time. That gives players just one weekend to complete these tasks, and they should make sure to carve out some time to do a bit of walking in the upcoming days. Indeed, fans that have only one Incubator in Pokemon GO will need to walk at least 9km in order to hatch two Eggs and traverse 5km, as instructed by two of the tasks.

As players that peruse this list are sure to notice, the tasks that make up the Festival of Lights Timed Research are all quite straightforward. Indeed, so long as players have enough Poke Balls to execute the requisite Throws and have time to do the aforementioned walking, they should have no trouble completing all the tasks before the event comes to a close. That said Pokemon GO's Litwick Community Day will also occur this weekend, and that may serve as a bit of a distraction.

With respect to the rewards, the Sparkler Pose may very well be the most exciting of the bunch. This cosmetic item will cause a PoGO player's avatar to hold a sparkler and wave it from side to side, and completing the Festival of Lights Timed Research in its entirety is currently the only way to obtain it.

Pokemon GO is available on mobile devices.
