In 2016, Niantic officially released the augmented reality game, Pokemon Go. At the time of its release, the game received mixed reviews for its lack of content and technical issues. Despite this, the game helped reinvigorate the Pokemon franchise into the popular conscience and has been an incredibly profitable product. Like all video games, however, Pokemon Go is occasionally prone to bugs.

As mentioned above, the game initially had a lot of technical and performance issues. Many of Pokemon Go's issues were patched out in a 2016 update, but problems still remain. For the most part, however, the bugs in the game are harmless, giving Pokemon a different look or making them run in a peculiar way. Sometimes, however, these bugs can result in something far more horrifying.

One Pokemon Go bug, for example, caused Typhlosion to apparently fuse with a Misdreavus. This gave the creature a similar look to the Hisuian Typhlosion in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. In a more recent example, a number of Pokemon fused into some kind of monstrosity that looks like something out of Elden Ring. In a recent post, Reddit user Grimm64209 shared the Pokemon Go abomination on the Elden Ring page, and it's genuinely difficult to tell what Pokemon are fused into this thing.

In the post, Grimm64209 implied that the fused Pokemon bore a resemblance to the Elden Ring boss, Godrick the Grafted. Godrick the Grafted was hated in the world of Elden Ring and took to fusing additional limbs to his body in order to obtain more power. The caption for the image reads also reads "I command thee kneel!!!"; a reference to a weapon skill that is only available with the Axe of Godrick.

In the various FromSoftware games, the bosses that the player will encounter typically fall into one of two categories. They're usually either people in armor or some kind of grotesque monstrosity straight out of the nightmares of H.P. Lovecraft. Many of the bosses in its latest game fall into the latter category, and players have even debated on which Elden Ring boss smells the worst. This particular Pokemon Go abomination, born of a glitch, could easily fit right alongside one of these bosses.

Since Pokemon Go was released, the game has continued to be a massive moneymaker for Nintendo, Niantic, and The Pokemon Company. Pokemon Go made over $1 billion in 2020 alone and some sources claim that the game has earned over $7 billion worldwide since it launched. Content for the game continues to be released, but regardless of how thoroughly the developers test may it, the game will inevitably run into a few bugs from time to time. Sometimes, these glitches just happen to resemble Elden Ring bosses.

Pokemon GO is available for most mobile devices.
