Those who love Dragon-Type Pokemon will be happy to know that Pokemon GO will be expanding its Pokemon roster through the inclusion of Druggidon, a Dragon-Type Pokemon that first debuted in the Pokemon franchise with the release of Pokemon Black and White. Not only will Pokemon Trainers have the opportunity to encounter a Druddigon; if they are lucky, they may even encounter a shiny one.

Druddigon is discovered in Pokemon GO by Professor Willow, who unlocks a mysterious door and finds the dragon dwelling in the cave. Druddigon and the other Pokemon found there, as the professor discovers, have also been known to reside in Unova's Dragonspiral Tower. The discovery of the cave and the Pokemon living within provides an avenue for Professor Willow and players to discover more about Pokemon heritage.

For the duration of the Dragonspiral Descent event, certain types of Pokemon will appear more frequently. This includes Fire-Type, Electric-Type, and Ice-Type Pokemon. Professor Willow suspects that the rise in the appearance of these Pokemon may be connected to the legendary Unova dragons Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem. The following Pokemon will appear more frequently: Vulpix, Seel, Dratini, Mareep, Sneasel, Trapinch, Blitzle, and Darumaka. Shiny versions of these Pokemon may also be spotted by lucky players. Trainers that are fortunate may encounter the following Pokemon: Dragonair, Vibrava, and Deino. Shiny Deino may also appear.

Raids will also be occurring, allowing players to encounter some rare and legendary Pokemon. This includes Tynamo, Litwick, Cubchoo, Golett, Deino, Electabuzz, Magmar, Lapras, Dragonite, Druddigon, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Mega Steelix. Of these Pokemon, shiny versions of Cubchoo, Deino, Electabuzz, Magmar, Lapras, Druddigon, Reshiram, Zekrom, and Mega Steelix may be encountered.

Completing Field Research Tasks will give players a chance to catch even more Pokemon. Dratini, Sneasel, Deino, and Druddigon will be available to encounter when Field Research Tasks are completed. Shiny versions of the Pokemon may also be spotted. There are four Field Research Tasks to complete, and players will be tasked with making 3 nice curveball throws in a row, winning a raid in less than 60 seconds, winning a raid, and winning 3 raids.

A new Collection Challenge will be available in celebration of Druddigon's debut in Pokemon GO. To complete the Dragonspiral Descent Collection Challenge, the following Pokemon have to be caught: Trapinch, Mareep, Seel, Vulpix, Dratini, Darumaka, Britzle, Sneasel, Vibrava, and Dragonair. Pokemon Trainers who complete the challenge will be rewarded with 1000 XP, 3000 Stardust, and an encounter with Druddigon. Throughout the Dragonspiral Descent event, a special one-time-purchase Event Box will be available for 175 PokeCoins. The Event Box will feature three Remote Raid Passes.

There is plenty to do and many Pokemon to catch during the Dragonspiral Descent event, in addition to the debut of Druddigon. While Druddigon's color scheme may be polarizing to some, the mighty dragon has still managed to gain some fans who will be happy to see it come to Pokemon GO.
