As some Pokemon GO fans have noticed, not all of the Detective Pikachu Field Research tasks are as straightforward as past events. Instead of telling Pokemon GO players exactly what they need to do, the tasks require them to watch the Detective Pikachu trailer and figure out which Pokemon each one is referring to.

In the meantime, special Field Research tasks aren't the only thing for Pokemon GO fans to dive into during the Detective Pikachu event. There's also the chance to catch a Pikachu in a detective hat, as it will potentially photobomb any photos players take in the game while the event is live. Additionally, new raid bosses are expected to be added as well, though none have been reported at the time of this writing.

Meanwhile, Pokemon GO players can also look forward to increased spawn rates for Pokemon featured in the Detective Pikachu movie. This includes some rare Pokemon like Charizard, Snorlax, region-exclusive Mr. Mime, Ludicolo, and more, so Pokemon GO players should definitely make it a point to participate in the Detective Pikachu event festivities while they still have a chance.

Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
