A popular dataminer for Pokemon GO discovers files not only for an upcoming limited time event, but the return of the classic villain organization Team Magma who were originally introduced in the Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald games. It's been a rollercoaster of a month for the popular mobile title Pokemon GO, with new creatures like Regieleki and Cutiefly joining the roster. However, the game is currently embattled in controversy over Niantic's decision to throw restrictions on the popular Remote Raid Pass items. The Remote Raid Pass situation has gotten so dire that some Pokemon GO fans have even taken extreme measures of selling their accounts, organizing strikes, and starting a petition that has quickly gained a sizable following. While fans continue to wait for Niantic to respond in some way, for now the Pokemon GO content schedule rolls forward with the Togetic Community Day having just arrived this past weekend. According to a new discovery, Niantic has plenty more on deck for fans later this year.RELATED: Pokemon GO Players Think Elite Raids Have Been Secretly NerfedNewly datamined information for Pokemon GO comes from PokeMiners regarding upcoming content. In a recent Tweet, PokeMiners indicates that a new event called A Little Warm Up event is on the way later this year, though the big piece of information tied to it is the return of a classic enemy team. Team Magma, a group originally introduced inside the Generation 3 Pokemon titles, is apparently officially joining the game thanks to in-game Team Magma items finally getting text added, as well as a new clothing item getting added to the store.

While it doesn't officially confirm the arrival of Team Magma, it's the first time the villains have been mentioned in the game in about 4 years. Niantic originally released Team Magma inspired clothing back in 2019, though strangely enough, the gear did not have any text associated with it. While this could just be Niantic fixing a mistake, the community seems to want to believe this could mean their upcoming debut into Pokemon GO, especially with an event name like "A Little Warm Up." Many have mentioned that they'd like to see other villains represented alongside the usual Team GO Rocket.

While the long term future of Pokemon GO remains a mystery, Niantic has recently revealed new details for the upcoming Sustainability Week 2023 event. The main draw for many players of this event will be the addition of Bounsweet, a generation 7 Pokemon that will also include its evolutions of Steenee and Tsareena. Players can also find Squirtle, Shellder, Wailmer, Drilbur, Cottonee, Petililil, Dwebble, Foongus, Froakie, Larvitar, and Binacle more often in the wild during this event as well.

Pokemon GO is available now on Android and iOS devices.
