Pokemon GO's Unova Week is well underway and, although there is no timed Special Research, trainers still have plenty to stay busy with throughout the final Ultra Reward Bonus week. After concluding a dramatic Dragon Week and a mostly quiet Enigma Week, the final round of bonuses is here to offer players a chance to fill in a handful of Unova Pokedex entries that were previously difficult to obtain.

Although many of the Unova Pokemon and their evolutions can be earned in Pokemon GO simply by using some Incense near a dense spawn point and hanging out for a few hours, there are also Battle Raid alternatives for players who prefer a fight. Obviously a Legendary like Genesect is going to require a 5-star Battle Raid fight for an encounter reward, but even some of the smaller Unova region Pokemon, like Lillipup's final evolution can be obtained from a Battle Raid during this week-long event.

In order to defeat Stoutland and earn that encounter chance, Pokemon GO trainers will need to bring the right counters to the fight. This shouldn't be a very challenging task, but for groups who want to optimize their efficiency, it is possible to take down Stoutland fairly easily with just a small handful of friends and the perfect Fighting-type counters.

Pokemon GO Unova Week

Stoutland is Normal-type Pokemon, which makes the strategy for this fight fairly straightforward. There's no need to get fancy here and players should just stick to their strongest Fighting-type Pokemon equipped with powerful Fighting-type move sets.

Best Stoutland Counters

Lucario - Counter/Aura Sphere

Conkeldurr Counter/Dynamic Punch

Machamp - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Hariyama - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Breloom - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Stoutland may not be incredibly important to the Pokemon GO PvE metagame, but the good doggie is a fan favorite from the Unova region and will likely have some uses in the lower tiers of the upcoming Battle League seasons. With that in mind, players may want to grind raids a bit to try and get as close to a perfect Stoutland as possible for those upcoming PvP battles.

As trainers continue working through these amazing events, they may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters and completing their Pokedex is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
