The next two months of Pokemon GO community day events are about to be decided by trainers around the world. Once again, Niantic is offering up four potential options and giving players the chance to vote on Twitter and select their preferred event. Once the voting concludes, the top two selections will each get their own event in September and October respectively. After weeks of teasing the big vote, the polls are finally open.

Since the announcement of the vote, many players have been taking to social media to make a case for their favorite of the four options. Although a handful representative meta relevant options that could be useful in future Battle Raids or Battle Leagues, for many players the choice comes down to which Pokemon has the coolest shiny. The clock is already running on the poll, so Pokemon GO fans should make their decisions ASAP and cast that ballot.

In order to vote, players need to head to the official Pokemon GO Twitter account and find the pinned tweet. From there, it should be as simple as clicking their top selection. Remember to keep in mind that both the first and second place Pokemon will receive their own events over the next two months. The mock poll that took place earlier this weekend showed Porygon taking the lead and that trend seems to be continue now with the read deal.

"We’ll post a poll on our official English-language Pokémon GO Twitter on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), and you’ll be able to cast your vote until Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). You’ll have 24 hours to cast one vote for the Pokémon you’d like to see most for either September or October Community Day.

The winners will be announced shortly after voting ends. The Pokémon that receives the most votes by the end of the voting period will be the featured Pokémon for September Community Day on Sunday, September 20, 2020. The Pokémon that receives the second-most votes will be featured during October Community Day on Saturday, October 17, 2020."

At this point, Porygon has the lead and, somewhat surprisingly, Charmander is in a strong second place. Caterpie and Grimer are way behind from there, securing just around 8% of the votes combines. Although Charmander is obviously a popular Pokemon thanks to its usefulness in the meta game and being a Gen 1 starter, it has already received a Community Day event, so it's a little surprising that the community is rallying behind the Fire-type once again. There's still a lot of time left to vote, so it will be interesting to see if Porygon can maintain its lead and if there are any late pushes for Caterpie or Grimer that help drive a comeback.

Once the new event arrives this weekend, the festivities should give trainers a good reason to continue catching the best Unova Pokemon in the game and getting closer to that complete Pokedex. Check back for more Pokemon GO updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
